Subject: LJAA Newsletter April 2011: Important Nominations & Annual Meeting Info

Dear LJAA Members,

March 2011 has flown by with wild winds, cold days and finally - the last day in March - we have record 80+ degree warmth. I hope everyone is enjoying the weather and, most importantly, finding time for creating.

The important announcement this month is our "All Member Annual Meeting" on Saturday, May 21 at our Gallery from 10:00 AM to Noon. We will have some morning refreshments, while you enjoy the company of your fellow LJAA members and vote for new Board members. Mark your calendars now!

In addition to a brief business meeting at our annual meeting, we will be electing new LJAA Board members. According to our By-Laws & Rules of Association, we are accepting board position nominations now and will close nominations 2 weeks prior to the meeting on May 7. We have 4 positions that must be filled:

President

Vice President

Secretary

Membership Director

You may nominate someone you think would be suitable for the job, or you can nominate yourself. Board members in current positions such as: Treasurer, Exhibition Director, Gallery Directory, Education Director, Gallery Training Director, Historian and Webmaster do not have to vacate their positions, but the positions are open for nominations.

Each exhibiting member may nominate someone for each position. Send your nominations for these board positions to secretary@lajollaart.org

Your nominations, can make a difference to the future of La Jolla Art Association. We are the oldest non-profit art association in San Diego that has been operating a gallery. With that history comes a responsibility. As a member you probably have skills that will help keep that tradition alive.

Finally, we are seeking someone to edit our monthly newsletter. Let me know if you are interested in assembling & editing LJAA news.

Kind regards & Cheers to all of you,

Kris deYoung, LJAA President 2009-2011
