President's Message: La Jolla Art Association
Needs Your Help!

Dear Member,
This letter is in response to some recent developments discovered at the last board meeting. La Jolla Art Association needs some helping hands from our membership.

Kris deYoung, past President and current Membership Chair has resigned from the board. She has accepted a new business opportunity which requires several trips to Washington DC and therefore less time for LJAA. We all appreciate the hundreds of hours she has contributed to keep LJAA alive and growing, but her resignation is creating a problem. This is the time of year that the Membership Chair would be mailing out the membership packets. It means that a committee of two board members and a new member, Ginger Stekstee will be taking on this responsibility. The 2012 membership renewal packets will be going out to you as soon as possible. Please watch for them after January 16th and respond promptly.

This is where we need your cooperation and understanding as members of LJAA. We are looking for one of our members to step up and become the new Membership Chairman for the rest of the year. Fujiko Isomura, who has held this position, will be available to train and coach the member for this position.

When you get the membership packets there will be the request for your participation. We need more than the membership renewal fees to keep LJAA vibrant. We need volunteers. What job could you do as an active exhibiting member or an associate member?

I'm listing just a few of the specific needs by job title. Many of these positions are limited to a one time commitment. Some jobs could be tackled with a team of members. Please start thinking about how you can help with one of these jobs.

• Exhibit Coordinator, ongoing; could be a board position
• All Member Flower Show group leader Mar 25-April 8
• Coordinator for June LJAA Show at Poway Performing Arts Gallery
• Group leader for a Father's Day theme Show June 3-17

We also have open Gallery Dates for a Group Show of your choice or for solo shows. Feb- 26- Mar 11

• Mar 11- 25
• April 22-May 6
• May 27- June 3
