PRESIDENT'S CORNER
Greetings fellow La Jolla Art Association artists,
I hope you are enjoying these long daylight hours as much as I am. Our late afternoon light is warm and perfect for capturing beautiful images in the "golden" hour.
Many congratulations are in order for all the members who had artwork/photography juried into the San Diego County Fair; especially those who received awards. We need to thank Raye Anne Marks and Marie Dion again for their generous donation of time for judging the children's art at the Fair and awarding cash prizes. Raye Anne is one of our very active life members, who supports LJAA consistently by leading several group shows every year. Hopefully, you will be able to see her work at the gallery's group show later in July.
For now, my attention has been laser-focused on ensuring that our gala cocktail party and silent auction on July 17 and tropical themed, juried exhibit July 6-18, Night of the Iguana, is a huge success. The Fundraising Committee members have been working really hard for you, to ensure that we can stay in business for another year. We really need to thank judy judy judy, our Fundraising Director, for working day and night to get the lion's share of donations from La Jolla businesses. Finally, I want to genuinely thank each member who contributed to our silent auction by giving large or small items of value. We sincerely appreciate your generosity; the Night of the Iguana cocktail party with live Latin music is your reward.
See you on the evening of Saturday, July 17!
Kind regards,
Kris deYoung LJAA President president@lajollaart.org
