The purpose of LJAA is to further the advancement of fine arts in La Jolla and San Diego County. For over 90 years, we have represented artistic excellence from local artists. Approximately 25,000 people per year visit our gallery free of charge to see exhibits by our members - many of whom are international award winners.
Major exhibitions include the Annual Member's Show and the San Diego County Juried Exhibition. During the balance of the year, gallery exhibits change every two weeks, featuring oil, water media, drawings, sculptures, photography, and other works of our members and guest artists.
We offer docent tours, demonstrations, and lectures at our gallery and other community locations. We promote exhibits of our artists' work throughout the region. In addition, we sponsor an awards program for youth art and conduct a major young people's art exhibition.
