VOLUNTEER HOURS Program
La Jolla Art Association Volunteer Service Program
(In May, 2009, the name of the Village Gold Program (VG) was changed to Volunteer Hours Program (VH).)
What is the LJAA Volunteer Hours Program?
- It is designed to encourage member participation and make it easier for members to receive recognition for their volunteer service to LJAA.
- It keeps the organization functional and viable.
- The records of volunteer hours help in applying for grants and funds.
- It helps to prevent board members from getting burned out and overloaded with work.
- Members do not receive financial compensation for their work for LJAA.
- ALL EXHIBITING MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO DO 30 HOURS OF GALLERY STAFFING ANNUALLY. (Between January 1 and December 31)
How it Works
- EACH EXHIBITING MEMBER MUST SELECT A VOLUNTEER SERVICE COMMITTEE AND SUBCOMMITTEE.
- The names are entered under their service committee choices on the website database.
- When a board member needs assistance, members are contacted per their choices. Members are also encouraged to contact board members as well as participate in the monthly board meeting.
- The "Volunteer Help Needed" page on the website indicates what help is needed by the Association.
- Members keep track of their own volunteer hours and report it to the board members who requested the volunteer help to record the VH status on website database.
- New Membership and Renewal Dues receive 6 VH as a jump start.
- All members’ hours reset to zero (0) on January 1.
- Associate Members can also volunteer and earn VH credits.
