LJAA Membership Application
Active and Sustaining Members are juried into the organization by a jury consisting of
eight or more members of the Board of Directors. Consult our
Membership Guide for more information on this process,
including costs of membership.
Please check our Events Page for the next jurying date.
Steps you must complete to apply for membership:
- Complete the form below and print two copies of the form - one for LJAA,
and one for your records.
- Prepare your 5 slides representing your best work. See the section, "Slide
Instructions" below for more information.
- Make sure you do both of the above 7 calendar days before the jurying date.
- Send a signed copy of the Membership Application, along with your slides, to
LJAA; 7917 Girard Avenue; La Jolla, CA 92037.
- Wait two weeks after the jurying date to find your results. Please do not
contact the gallery for results.
Slide Instructions
Slides must be received 7 calendar days before the jurying date. All slides must conform
to the following specifications:
- Slides must be of original works created by the artist.
- 3-dimensional artists should provide 2 views of each work.
This means that if all 5 of your works are sculptures, for example, you will
send us 10 slides instead of 5.
- Works must have been completed in the past two years.
- Size must be 2" x 2"; other sizes will not be accepted.
- Slides must be labelled correctly (see illustration).
- No glass-mounted slides will be accepted.
- Enclose an SASE if you want us to return your slides after jurying.
