      Authorize between meeting actions;

a. Accept and thank Mary Rodriguez for her $100 denotation to LJ Shores Surfing Assoc. Contest sponsorship on behalf of LJAA

b. Accept and thank Marie Dion for $150 donation for the Children’s Contest at this years Del Mar Fair for LJAA sponsorship

c. Thank Sebastian Capella for his gift of a painting to and in honor of Perrietta Hester on the occasion our first show honoring an Honorary LJAA member.

d. Accept and thank Melinda Newman for her donations of $175 in cash and goods (deposit, poster and case of wine) for the Honoring Perrietta Hester show.    

4. Membership:  Ginger, Fujiko, Melinda: updates on process and concerns

 

MOTIONS

1. Drop the Volunteer Hours Program.

 

2. Drop the expectation that Exhibiting members participate in two or more shows a year

 

3. Raise Associate dues to $50

 

4. Inform All members of the need for them to keep a tally of their volunteer efforts and provide that information by Dec 30 for the 2012 year. Define volunteer hours for the members as follows: any activity preformed by a member that supports the goals and objectives of the organization as set forth by the LJAA Board in the LJAA Rules and in the LJAA by-laws. Transportation to and from gallery sitting, Board meetings and like activities count.  For 2011 tax reporting purposes we will use the hours currently recorded online for 2011.  Provide a simple form for members to use to track their hours at the beginning for 2012 and with the 2013 renewal materials. WE will use the same form as Santa Fe, as there are cross members and so some already are used to this activity.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Gallery schedule support needed: discussion and Fujiko has information and input on our maintenance of the consignments sheets and online back up for our insurance. 

2. Fund raising ideas: discussion and action if wanted

·        LOO for RENT Room; ask members to donate a painting or photo 12x16 or smaller, unframed or framed that LJAA will sell for $100 each to make extra rent money.

·        Form a committee to explore co- locating the gallery with the dress shoppe down the street 2010, I believe

·        Have a plein aire paint day of the business down the street and ask them to hang the paintings in their business with a referral to our location.

·        Expand our class offerings.  The daily rent for our space is $80. Hold a class for free rent and sit the gallery the rest of the day; or Pay $40 for half day 9-12; if more than 7 students attended there would be extra income for the LJAA to be negotiated 

           Have gift classes. Like the Santa Fe group does.  They have raised $5000,
