A native of California, Joli Beal graduated from UC Irvine. She continued her education attending the San Diego Design Institute and subsequently became an ASID member. Throughout her years as a working designer she has acquired a broad background in the arts.
Joli decided to continue to expand on her early interest in painting in oils after relocating to Del Mar, California. She enjoys painting in open (plein) air and from life to capture the essence of light on her subject matter. Oil is her medium of choice because of its beauty and because the colors remain true.
Artist Statement:I try to catch a moment of natural beauty in paint. My goal is to be able to use the medium of oil as a narrative for what I am seeing and feeling.
