A JURIED FINE ART EXHIBIT

April 2 – April 13, 2009

Exhibition will be shown at Galley 21 in Spanish Village Balboa Park
 during museum hours: daily 11:00 am – 4:00pm

ELIGIBILITY
This exhibition is open to all artists in San Diego County, California.

MEDIA
All Fine Art media:  Acrylics, Ceramics, Enamels, Fibers, Glass, Graphics, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Oils, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolors, Wood.

SPECIFICATIONS
All work must be original and available for sale.  Size limit 40 inches maximum including frame.  Artwork must be wired and ready to hang.  No work requiring special hanging or installation.

JUROR - Raye Anne Marks, oil painter, private instructor.
Raye Anne Marks moved to San Diego 20 years ago and began to study art seriously with Spanish master Sebastian Capella. She now assists in teaching his classes as well as leading private classes of her own. Marks developed a  Bravura style of painting in bold and luminous colors; her work is characterized by bold, simple patterns of lights and darks, and paint applied with directness.  Marks has won numerous awards including 1st and 2nd place in the Del Mar Fair in 2006 and two 1st place for oil portrait and landscape as well as three honorable mentions. She has served in several local art organizations including La Jolla Art Association, Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild, San Diego Portrait Society, and the San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild.

AWARDS
Special awards will be given for Best of Show, First Place, Second Place and Third Place.  Awards will be presented at the opening reception on Sunday April 5th at approximately 1:30 pm.

ENTRY FEE AND INSTRUCTIONS:
DEADLINE FOR IN-PERSON ENTRIES IS WEDNESDAY APRIL 1st by 6pm.
The entry fee is a non-refundable donation of twenty five dollars ($25) for one piece entered, or thirty five dollars ($35) for two pieces entered.  LJAA artists must volunteer for a gallery sitting shift.  A completed Entry Form must be submitted with payment and artwork in person at the time of the drop-off.   Payment must be cash or check made payable to La Jolla Art Association (LJAA).  No credit cards accepted.

Drop off of artwork:
Wednesday April 1st, 4:00pm – 6:00pm.  Jurying begins promptly at 6:00pm.

Pick up exhibited work:
Monday April 13th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTED ENTRIES   All artists who entered work in the show will be notified of their acceptance via email on Thursday April 2nd.  Artwork not accepted will be available for pickup during museum hours: daily 11:00 am - 4:00pm.  Artwork not picked up by 6:00pm on April 13th becomes property of LJAA and may be disposed of by LJAA.

ART SALES
Sale of work will be encouraged during the exhibit.  A 20% commission will be retained on all sales.  All work sold during the show may be replaced by the artist with work of similar quality.
