Site Designed By: Tom O Scott. Special thanks go to Shandel Gamer and Jeff Yeomans, who were part of the Web Design Committee, and to Susan Self, who put together most of the content from the previous site. The site went "live" on December 1, 2004.
Color Scheme: The Web Committee spent quite a bit of time looking at various color schemes, and finally settled on the scheme that is our "default" scheme. However, in this process, we realized that one person's favorite color is another's monstrosity, so we provided the ability to personalize the color scheme. I relied on the great article, Alternative Style: Working with Alternate Style Sheets, by Paul Snowdon, to make this possible.
W3C Compliance: Every effort has been made to make this site compliant with current web standards. On most pages, there is a link to the W3C, which has a free validator for any site. Compliance with W3C standards not only makes the site more accessible to people with disabilities; it also makes the site much easier to maintain.
Browsers: Primarily, this site has been tested against the latest versions of IE Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Since it utilizes some javascript and extensive CSS, it may not render correctly in older browser versions.
Gallery / Image pages: All these have been generated with JAlbum, one of the most flexible generators out there. JAlbum comes with dozens of "skins" that you can modify to seamlessly integrate image pages into your site. Moreover, it's free.
CSS: This site heavily relies on CSS. You can view the CSS for the site here.
Email Addresses: The email addresses on this site are embedded in some javascript to prevent automated spam robots from harvesting them.
